Is it true that Charlie Chaplin joined a Chaplin look-alike contest and did not win?
TRUE!
In 1915 Charlie Chaplin was on the top of his popularity and Chaplin look-alike competitions took place all over the United States. However, contestants were appreciated not for the resemblance to Charlie but for the ‘Little Tramp’ character imitation.
Once, Chaplin visited a competition that was being held in San Francisco and didn’t even make it to the finals. An interesting fact is that a Cleveland’s Chaplin look-alike competition was won by a young comedian named Bob Hope.

I love him…
One of the most charming young actors in Hollywood, I really like looking at his face (so damn cute…)
My heart broke when he was tortured in the movie “The Untraceable” . Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of movies with him including the one where he plays a psycho planting secret video cameras and stalking girls he like (Alone with Her). The latest movie I watched was on cable TV with Meg Ryan and Antonio Banderas (My Mom’s New Boyfriend).
He is the son of Tom Hanks.
Anyway, you can google his name if you want to know more about him.

Three Sure Things in Life???

from a forwarded email:
The madam opened the brothel door and saw a rather dignified, well-dressed, good-looking man in his late forties or early fifties.
“May I help you?” she asked.
“I want to see Valerie,” the man replied.
“Sir, Valerie is one of our most expensive ladies. Perhaps you would prefer someone else,” said the madam.
“No. I must see Valerie,” he replied.
Just then, Valerie appeared and announced to the man that she charged $5,000 a visit.
Without hesitation, the man pulled out five thousand dollars and gave them to Valerie, and they went upstairs.
After an hour, the man calmly left.
The next night, the same man appeared again, once more demanding to see
Valerie. Valerie explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row — too expensive — and there were no discounts. The price was still $5,000.
Again the man pulled out the money, gave it to Valerie, and they went upstairs.
After an hour, he left.
The following night the man was there yet again. Everyone was astounded that he had come for a third consecutive night, but he paid Valerie and they went upstairs.
After their session, Valerie questioned the man. “No one has ever been with me three nights in a row. Where are you from?” she asked.
The man replied, ” South Carolina .”
“Really” she said. “I have family in South
Carolina ”
“I know,” the man said. “Your father died, and I am your sister’s attorney. She asked me to give you your $15,000 inheritance. ”
The moral of the story is that three things in life are certain
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Being screwed by a lawyer

He was a nobody and a simple man. He met her when he visited a department store in the city to ask for the price of a particular shirt he liked. She was the saleslady. After knowing the price, he left and said to her, it’s too expensive and he didn’t have enough money.
Everyday, he would visit the department store to check if the shirt had already been sold. Everyday, the saleslady witnessed how eager the young man wanted to buy the shirt but could not afford it.
Until one day, he found out, the shirt was already sold. He searched for the saleslady but could not find her until he found her in another department as a cashier. He told her that the shirt had already been sold.
The saleslady then explained to the young man that she bought the shirt for him out of compassion.
They then became good friends and got married.
This was how the love story of the great Manny Pacquiao and Jinky started.
With one simple kindness of Jinky, that started a good friendship, it completed the puzzle of the life of the young, simple, and poor then Manny to become the greatest athlete on earth ever!

It was a good thing I was able to watch Slumdog Millionaire before the Oscars so I could appreciate it more. Unfortunately, I haven’t watched most of the movies with the nominations. The movie garnered 8 awards including the Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Director, Musical Score, Soundtrack, Film Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography, and Writing in Adapted Screenplay.
I was so impressed by the versatile actor Hugh Jackman who hosted the event.
In a month, I was able to watch a couple of movies but nothing excites me that much except of course for the Slumdog Millionaire which really impressed me very much. Though I must confess I am not good at expressing criticisms at movies.
The curious case of Benjamin Button which I tried to watch many times was nice but still found it a little boring. I liked Australia simply because I love the actors and the story was also good.
Same thing with The Underworld: Rise of the Lycans which was below what I expected… and of course the cutie-pie Beverly Hills Chihuahua which of course you don’t expect anything more from it than again something cutie-cutie. Drew Barrymore’s voice was entertaining and Andy Garcia’s lovable.
TOday I watched The Punisher 2 and I was shocked by its violence. It was too much I was not anymore able to enjoy it. There were a lot of whish whash whosh of blood and body parts all around! huhuhu… All I did was to cover my eyes all the time. If you ask me about the synopsis, I don’t know. The new Frank Castle’ Ray Stevenson was fit to play the role as well as the original cast Thomas Jane.
I hope Dragon Ball-Z won’t be a disappointment. I was misinformed when I read in one blog that Kirsten Kreuk would play Chi-Chi though the beautiful Emmy Rossum of Phantom of the Opera and Poseidon will play the blue-haired Bulma!
