of Movies and Oscars

It was a good thing I was able to watch Slumdog Millionaire before the Oscars  so I could appreciate it more. Unfortunately, I haven’t watched most of the movies with the nominations. The movie garnered 8 awards including the Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Director, Musical Score,  Soundtrack, Film Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography, and Writing in Adapted Screenplay.

I was so impressed by the versatile actor Hugh Jackman who hosted the event.

In a month, I was able to watch a couple of movies but nothing excites me that much except of course for the Slumdog Millionaire which really impressed me very much. Though I must confess I am not good at expressing criticisms at movies.

The curious case of Benjamin Button  which I tried to watch many times was nice but still found it a little boring. I liked Australia simply because I love the actors and the story was also good.

Same thing with The Underworld: Rise of the Lycans which was below what I expected… and of course the cutie-pie Beverly Hills Chihuahua  which of course you don’t expect anything more from it than again something cutie-cutie. Drew Barrymore’s voice was entertaining and Andy Garcia’s lovable.

TOday I watched The Punisher 2 and I was shocked by its violence. It was too much I was not anymore able to enjoy it. There were a lot of whish whash whosh of blood and body parts all around! huhuhu… All I did was to cover my eyes all the time. If you ask me about the synopsis, I don’t know. The new Frank Castle’ Ray Stevenson was fit to play the role as well as the original cast Thomas Jane.

I hope Dragon Ball-Z won’t be a disappointment. I was misinformed when I read in one blog that Kirsten Kreuk would play Chi-Chi though the beautiful Emmy Rossum of Phantom of the Opera and Poseidon will play the blue-haired Bulma!

Eto po ang sagot sa tag ni Markey sa akin kung alin doon ang story-telling-a-lie…

Una sasagutin ko muna ang mga comment na di tumugma…

# 10 muna, isa sa mga sagot ni Jennifer: Di ako nilalagnat KASI di ako nakakapupu… Kundi pag di ako naka pupu signus na meron ako karamdaman o may sakit ako. Normal sa akin ang magpupu talaga araw-araw tapos pag hindi sa araw nato ibig sabihin non meron pala akong lagnat sa loob.. tama ba tagalog ko? Since last year kasi ata or mag 2 years na, nilalagnat ako ng di umiinit sa labas ng katawan ko (bat parang iba ang tunog?) I mean… nahahalata lang ng nanay ko kasi pumupungay na mga mata ko tapos pag check pala ng temperature, mataas na pala. Mainit na rin pala kilikili, tyan, hininga, at ihi ko. Tsaka kasi ngayon, nilalagnat ako ng wala man lang ubo o sipon basta lagnat lang. Siguro ganito na pag tumatanda. So pag di ako naka pupu nyan ibig sabihin may lagnat na naman ako.

Last week 4 days ako di nagpupu eh wala naman akong naramdaman o wala naman akong lagnat. 5th day masakit na tiyan ko pero naka pupu na ako. 6th day wala na naman lahat na pinakain ng nanay at tatay ko 7th day kahapon (Sabado) okay na naman pero ang sakit talaga ng tiyan ko until madaling araw.

Buti naka chat ko sa ym si bunsoy Enoch around 3am at sabi tea raw. Nawala rin naman sakit ng tiyan ko promise after ko uminom ng tsaa.

So ayun.

Sabi ni Teacher Kai through skype chat 7 or 9 di siya sure hehehe..

#9. Yup dalawa lang pabango ko po at yun ay ang kamiseta powder scent at ang cool ng polo… pang-araw or ordinary lakad lang ang kamiseta since mumurahin lang naman… pang special dates ang polo hehehe…

By the way, Jen, pareho tayo mahilig kumain ng pasta BASTA PASTAAAAA! Yep marunong rin ako konti ng flute at gitara at piano, at kaya ko humarap ng computer 20 hrs a day hehehe kaya patok na patok tayong dalawa hehehe!

Nag masters po talaga ako ng Theo. At yes from 7:40 am ang class ko until 5pm kasi 3 subjects siya. At dahil, isang beses lang sa isang linggo ang pag-aaral kaya 2-3 hours ang bawat subject. Lunch lang ang break ko nun at isang oras pa ata di ko na matandaan around year 2002 or 2003 ata yun eh. Maalala ko Synoptics ang isa kong subject.

Na failure debard naman ako sa isang Theo class ko sa college kasi ang prof namin isang Heswita na matandang Aleman mga around late 70s lang naman siya. So di ko na talaga maintindihan sinasabi niya. God bless Fr. Dotterweitch (yun ata ang spelling) soul pumanaw pa naman na yun.. So imbes sa klase nya ako matulog edi sa kwarto ko na lang di ko na pinasukan hehehe.. Sorry Lord…

Buti naman at merong nakatama hehehe Si Markey! Sagot niya #4 (I love dolls and collecting scented and designed papers)

Sa buong buhay ko isa lang doll ko nung bata pa ako at habang nagbabarter ang mga kaklase ko ng stationaries, ako walang hilig non. Aside sa wala akong pambili, di ko talaga type yung mga ganon. Mas type ko ang baril-barilan at habulan, tumbang preso, shatong, at marami pang iba kahit lampa naman ako sa mga larong iyon. Mas type ko ang video games kaya nga dun ko nakuha ang email add ko at first blog name ko na: SHENMUE.

At oo nga pala Markey, pareho tayo, di ako mahilig mag suot ng wristwatch.

I hate my handwriting too.

Tsaka I read newspapers and magazines mula sa likod at nakasanayan ko na eversince.

Where would I start…

Sometimes you piss me off when all you do is complain about your life and the things around you. Why can’t you be contented with what have been blessed to you?

Maybe you fail to count your real blessings… You ask me, what are the things women would kill just to have what you do?

Let me count them for you in my own limited ways…

If only I have a loving and supportive kuya like you do, I would always feel safe and secure… I always wonder how it is to have older sisters and brothers to take care of me…

You have beautiful family members… kung kasing-edad ko lang mga pamangkin mo, niligawan ko na sila hehehe… shhh… quiet baka di na ako pansinin ng mga yan pagbisita ko sa inyo hehehe

That would mean you are also beautiful. Have you really heard someone say you are ugly? Nope because physically you never are. If only I had your beautiful skin na para nang transparent sa natural na kaputian naku tseh na lang hehehe (kaya di ako pinaputi ni Lord!)

Yang letseng ilong mo na matangos na pero nilalait-lait mo… Kung meron dapat ngang magreklamo sa hugis ng ilong nya, ako dapat yun. Sa grupo nga natin ako lang ang pango… Kaya tuloy minsan pagnagrereklamo ka sa ilong mo, pati ako napapaisip, mas lalong panget ilong ko Eh kung palit kaya tayo ng ilong? Gusto mo? Hehehe

You see what negativity can do to people too?

Look yourself at the mirror and tell me what’s ugly in you? Your potbelly? Your baby fats? (uhm… di na ata baby fats yan hehehe) If you work on it nawawala naman yan.

You tell me you love yourself pero I think you don’t. If you do, you won’t sulk yourself into misery about it. If you love yourself, you love what you see in you and you accept whatever flaws you have with a happy heart. Nature and nurture ika nga my pren. Nurture what you have and you’ll learn to love and accept your flaws.

People only see what we want them to see sometimes. So love yourself. Love what God has given you. Thank God for making you beautiful everyday. Pasalamat ka kay Lord natural na ang byuti mo girl.

I love your bitchiness and I wish I have your balls to say it all frankly to people without qualms. You don’t see how your frankness attracts people to you because they want to be like you. They want your ideas, your leadership, AND YOUR FASHION. Remember how people in the office ask your advices for fashion, how they ask where you buy your clothes, your shoes, your bags, your accessories… Lahat sayo ginagaya nila! Everywhere we go, you attract people because you are truly beautiful, di mo ba napapansin yun? Nakapikit ka ata eh hehehe…

If I could, I would kill you now to have all your fancy, fashionable and expensive clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and perfumes! Sinong babae ang ayaw non?

You were the only one who faced the monster and confronted him and made him confess his sins committed against me and I will forever remember how you bravely did that for me.

My friend, I feel sad whenever you’re sad too. Even if you hate my hyperness and vowed to secretly pulverize 10 iterax pills in my drink the next time we are together, I still love you.

Kahit di ko feel ang chinese food lalo na ang seafood kakainin ko magkasama lang tayo. Remember, I ate all those seafood for you? Kasi I know mahirap hanapin ang isang tunay at totoong friend na katulad mo… sira-ulo na katulad ko… joke… hehehe

At kahit panay ang away natin pagmagkasama tayo non nagsha-shopping I still stick with you BECAUSE YOU ARE ONE OF GOD’S GREATEST MIRACLES TO ME.

I will say it again and again my friend, beauty is not measured by having a boyfriend. Baka naman kasi puro tanga yang mga nasa paligid mo kaya they don’t know how blessed they would be to have you as their girlfriend!

Pakilala mo nga yan sila sa akin ng mauntog ko sa kanto mga ulo ng mga yan para matauhan! Ano pa nga ba ang silbi ng pagka maton ko? hehehe

Kahit na tawagin mo akong devi (short for devil) forever since nakasanayan mo na akong tawagin nyan… okay lang hehe… alam ko naman you meant kabaliktaran hehehe (tama ba?!)

Next time naman ako na ang pipili ng restaurant ha… pero okay pa rin sa akin ang chinese at seafood basta ikaw!

I planned to do this later like a few days LATER from now but after visiting blogs, I found most of them are tagged already (baka ma-tag ulet ako! Uunahan ko na sila)…

I had to post ten things about myself which 9 are true and 1 is a story-telling-a-lie … Now try to guess which one is a gimmick…

1. I was born premature in weeks with a weight of 4.5 lbs. My father was already at work when he found out I was born around 5:30 in the morning. When he visited the hospital, he asked the doctor about my gender (di pa uso ang ultrasound sa bukid namin non)… the doctor said in vernacular, ‘bugoy man imong anak oi wala jud ninghilak pagdagpa naq sa iyang lubot!’  in english he meant something like i was naughty though the reason why he said that was out of the planet way not connected at all. This prompted my father into thinking I WAS A BOY  and went home announcing his first born was male until the time when he had to give me my first bath…

2. In Music:

*** I studied hawaiian dance when i was in grade 4 in school without asking my parents’ permission though I know they would not disapprove of it. We had a great show in school afterwards. I have always decided alone on what I want eversince. I get compliments as a graceful dancer though I find it really uncomfortable dancing in fron of people unless I know all the people watching personally. However, when I dance pop music, people always say I dance well but like a boy. My dream is to lapdance but ONLY to somebody of course I am intimately comfortable with! (wink!).

*** I was a soprano 1 in a chorale BUT I cannot sing solo and I do not have a good voice. I am very addicted to videoke and pasensya pag ako na may hawak ng mic, di ka na ulet makakakanta!

*** I studied and played piano and learnt how to play the guitar because my youngest brother taught me and the flute because the priest brother taught me too. I even taught kids in school before how to play the flute.

3. I took my licensure exam in PRC when  was so sick yun tipong tumutulo sipon ko sa paper ko tapos pahiran na lang ng tissue. My mother told me if I want not to show up on the exam day rather than fail it, I told her at least if I fail, I have a good excuse… I was on number 13th seat. It was a one whole day exam, the morning went out well but in the afternoon it got worse.  So in the afternoon, I slept because of too much headache and grogginess from medicines when I woke up it was minutes before the submission and I am only one-fourth done and since I could barely understand anymore what were the questions, bentot na lang. The examiner thought I was done and was just trying to take a nap so he let me be. 

I passed the exam which I believe was really a miracle at hand by GOD!

4.  I love dolls and collecting scented and designed papers (uso nung bata pa ako, tawag sa amin non stationaries)

5. I have a crush in the world of blog I would never ever dare tell who he is. Kill me first.

6. I got exempted to two out of four of my Philosophy classes while I was in university, 2 majors in english subjects, and in statistics math subject, though I had passing grades in 70s in some of my english and other major subjects and failed 69 in math and some subjects too and FD (failure debard) in one of my Theology class. Gamit kasi ng school namin nde yung mga 1,2,3 na grades kundi 70-100 ekek…

I got exempted with my first Philo class because I am usually motivated with ‘terror’ professors. Only few students enroll in his classes as he was infamous for being terror but I got high grades in all the exams before the finals so I was exempted with the grade of 95. The third Philo, I got exempted from the final exam after submitting a paper about C.S. Lewis book Screwtape’s Letters.

7. I studied masters in Theology in the same university where I graduated less than one semester. I did not finish since I slept in my class because of tiredeness. I had to be in school from 7:40am class to 5pm. I had to wake up as early as 5am everyday to go to work and study on Saturdays. In the end, I did not finish it

8. I wore big henna tattooes in my left arm at work when I was in Makati every two weeks. The manager disapproves of it but did nothing about it.

9. There are only two scents I have and wear: kamiseta powder scent and cool by ralph lauren which both i have been using about 4 years now.

10. Pupu ako everyday. Kaya pag di ako naka-pupu sa isang araw, sign na may sakit ako like lagnat or something. Kahapon 4th day ko na di nag-pupu pero okay na ako ngayon.
